What is Volleyball
Volleyball is a team sport where two teams of six players each try to score points by hitting a ball over a net into the opponent's court. The game is played in sets, and a team wins a set by reaching 25 points with a two-point lead. Points are scored when the ball lands on the opponent's side or they fail to return it. It can be played indoors or on sand (beach volleyball).
History of Volleyball
Volleyball was invented in 1895 by William G. Morgan, who created it as a less intense alternative to basketball. Originally called "mintonette," it was renamed "volleyball" after a spectator suggested the name. The sport quickly spread and became an Olympic event in 1964. Today, it is played worldwide in both indoor and beach formats.
